Hostel staff and cleaning ladies are all very nice. Although they don't speak English, we still can communicate by body gestures for what I needed. Hostel room is very small, walls are thin yes, can hear neighbor noise. But room is clean, although tiny, still have every basic things I need. It is pretty noisy at night may be downstairs are busy restaurants. Location is great at downstairs already have two supermarkets. Overall, it is pretty safe and comfy for a single lady traveler to stay at there. Will recommend for any budget travelers too.
The hostal is with very nice location. Very close to Santa Anna square where is the best place to eat in Madrid (according to me). Very kind women at the reception who unfortunately does not speak English but is very helpful with information and anything you need. There is everyday cleaning and the wi fi is very good, we were a group of six with 3 double rooms (#11, #5 and #6) in room #6 the wi fi was not very good but in all other rooms was ok. There is very close metro station (Anton Martin) and we are very glad that we have a late flight back and the hostel allowed to leave our baggage and come and take it in the noon. I definitely recommend this place and if we come back to Madrid we will stay there again. You do not have to leave your keys and can enter and go out without any problem, hot water and heating very good and all the time. None of the 3 room had any problems. It is not noisy and the street downstairs is not Busy with traffic. Actually I can not say a bad thing for this hostel at all. Very nice.
I wanted to enjoy this hotel, as the staff were friendly despite a language barrier. The room itself was small but ok, and the bathroom clean but there were two issues. The minor one was the wifi didn't reach my room (room 8) so I could only get internet near reception. Only a problem if like me you are using the web to plan the next few days. The larger problem was the room smelt of smoke to the extent that after two days so did most of my clothes.
Location was fine but if in Madrid again I'll look elsewhere.

Good location, just ok stay
Wifi doesnt work well in the room. Towel is not in good condition. But cleans room everyday. Great location, its near to the train station and all, but neighbor isn't that good.
Excellent hostal, very good service, good location
The hostal is excellent, with very good service. Anita, the person in charge, is friendly and very service oriented. The place is very clean: the room is cleaned thoroughly every single day. A clean bath towel is provided every day and each room has its own private bathroom. The location of the hostel is very good (very close to museums, cafes, train station, metro, supermarkets, etc.). It is in the heart of historic Madrid. I will stay there next time I visit this city. Very satisfying experience.
We stayed at this hostal for 6 days and totally enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small but modern and spotless. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent - we felt we were in the heart of a neighborhood and were able to experience the cultural life of Spain here. We were able to walk to the places we wanted to see. My only complaint would be the street noise, bring ear plugs.
We didn't expect much from a 2 star hostal so we were adequately satisfied with what we got. It's old and a bit noisy but suited our purpose of finding a cheap place near the center.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They really do go out of their way. The hostal is very clean and has evidently been renovated with new floors and new bathrooms. The shower works great, the water is hot and the heating is good. I´ve been there in December so all this was nice. Location was nearly perfect because it is about 100 mts from the subway on a small street and close to Madrid´s main attractions. That being said there is a caveat: this is a ONE star hostal. There is no reception, the hallways are narrow and the rooms are very small. If you are looking for price only you can´t go wrong, but this is not your place if you want anything else.
