Great Habton Cottage is a cosy holiday home located in the charming village of Great Habton, less than 6 miles from the popular market town of Malton. Sleeping up to five guests, this recently refurbished stone cottage has everything you could need for a relaxing retreat in the countryside.
With two double bedrooms, a homely living room complete with a log burner and a spacious open plan kitchen diner featuring modern appliances, Great Habton Cottage is perfect for the whole family.
The Space:
With exposed beams and a low ceiling, the living room has a traditional cosy cottage feel. The perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring the local area, you can fire up the wood burning stove and enjoy a night in with your loved ones. Relax on one of the comfy sofas and turn on the large LCD smart TV which has easy access to services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. You can also bring your favourite films with you and watch them on the DVD player. There is an Amazon Alexa smart speaker complete with subscription to Apple Music so if you are having a lazy morning you can listen to your favourite tunes or radio station.
Head to the kitchen diner and you’ll find a beautifully decorated space. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, the country kitchen features modern appliances such as a dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. From crockery and cutlery to teapots and tumblers, the cottage has everything you could need. Also sharing this space is the dining area which is the ideal spot for family meals and sociable gatherings with friends. There is a LCD smart TV on the wall so you can keep up with your favourite shows as you cook or keep the little ones entertained during early morning breakfasts.
Take the stairs up to the first floor to the master bedroom. Home to a comfortable King size bed with luxury white bed linen, you’ll certainly enjoy your sleep at Great Habton Cottage. It also features a television and DVD player for a bit of Saturday morning television and an Amazon Alexa smart speaker with Apple Music subscription. If you don’t want those early mornings the windows have blackout curtains so you can enjoy a nice sleep in! There is plenty of room for storage with sliding wardrobes and a large set of drawers. The room also has a fantastic dressing table area, a perfect place to get ready for a special night out.
The second bedroom has been designed to be comfortable for everyone. The room has a triple bunk bed, double on the bottom and single on top, which suits all parties from couples to families.
The bathroom has been tastefully decorated to be both comfortable, stylish and yet still practical. With an electric shower for those mornings when you want to be out exploring, to a luxury spa bath for those nights when you want a bit of ‘me’ time! Towels are provided so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full cottage. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is free on site parking for up to two cars.
The Neighborhood:
Great Habton is a quiet countryside village just 6 miles from the bustling market town of Malton. Perfect for walks and cycling, you’ll have access to beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and great links to neighbouring areas. There is a local pub just a two minute walk from the cottage where you can enjoy meals and drinks during your stay.
Families will love the popular tourist spots nearby such as Flamingo Land theme park which is a short 5 minute drive away and the North York Moors Steam Railway which can be reached in 15 minutes by car. If you’re looking for an adventure, Dalby Forest is 35 minutes away where you can experience adventure trails and the Go Ape course.
We’d recommend visiting the pretty market town of Malton, located on the north of the River Derwent. With an exceptional foodie community, an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafes, stunning countryside surrounding the area, Malton is ideal for days out.
Getting Around:
Great Habton has bus links to surrounding areas such as Malton, Hutton-le-Hole and Kirkbymoorside. Hop on the 175 route which travels between Malton and Pickering with stops in Amotherby and Swinton amongst others. The 176 route has drop offs in Marton and Hutton-le-Hole before finishing in Kirkbymoorside.
The closest train station is a 15-minute drive from the cottage in Malton. There's a direct train service to Malton on the Scarborough – York – Leeds – Manchester line. For travellers from further afield, the best connections are made via York. There are bus services to Malton from York, Scarborough, Leeds, Pickering and Helmsley.
The Yorkshire Coastliner is the perfect way to explore the whole area. This long-distance service links the cities of Leeds and York with the towns and villages of Malton, Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale, as well as the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby.
