Disaster. Avoid.
This place was a real sh*t hole. Checked in and was told restaurant ran out of food night before and only pizza by slice and spaghetti was available. One person cooking and tending bar. Also was charged a 125.00 incidental fee in addition to cost. Which i dont remember seeing in listing. Had to go back to town for dinner. Upon returning and unpacking found food in fridge, from previous guests. Beds had stains, crumbs in sheets and hair . Obvious that beds had people who slept, had sex and ate in beds. Which is why most hotels change the linens and clean. Callahans is not one of those places. Bowl with ashes on dresser, trash in dresser, blood in jacuzzi tub, trash in fireplace. $225 for a filthy , nasty, experience. I asked for my money back and left. Drove back to ashland to find another hotel. Plenty of other options in ashland area. The rest areas and their toilets are cleaner. Have photos app wont load. Front desk person took photos too.

There is probably much more to explore here but we were just quick sleep-over guests enroute to SoCal. Seems like a place that would be fun to stay at with big group. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Staff was friendly and helpful.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Callahan's Mountain Lodge is a gem tucked away in a stunning mountain setting! The views are breathtaking, and the ambiance is pure tranquility. The staff at the front desk was amazing—welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. The real fireplaces in the rooms add such a cozy touch, and the hot tubs are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Being so close to Mt. Ashland ski area is a huge bonus for snow lovers like me. Best of all, it’s a dog-friendly oasis! My pup loved exploring the trails and lounging by the fire as much as I did. Honestly, I hesitate to write this review for fear of letting the secret out! If you’re looking for a serene escape, this place is unbeatable. Just promise to save me a room for next time! 😉

Disgusting
Stayed with my dog. Just walking the hallway into my room was disgusting. Runbish everywhere, carpets unclean. Then the room. Water dripping from the light into the jacuzzi tub. Totally unsafe. Called and they said someone will fix but i couldnt get another room or get a reimbursement if any type. Very poor customer service. Apparently it was leaking from the above rooms jacuzzi tub. Disgusting to say the least. Tv didnt work. No carpet on the floor, anywhere or even mats to wipe feet. Also arrived after driving for 5 hrs, prob 30 mins early to be told cant check in until 4pm. Oh and whilst im waiting for guy to see where leak is,another guy just enters my room with a key, then aplogizing he didnt know anyone was in this room. Guess locking up all your stuff is also a must here. That freaked me out to say the least. The only good thing was the Christmas food. Delicious. Never again!

Nice but ...no water
Was pleasantly surprised the room was spacious and comfy beds. There was a very sparce supplies in the gift shop. No water for sale, they said because the have spring water coming thru the tap. This would have been fine except there was no water to the whole lodge on our last day there. Not ok. But overall staff was nice they even called me cause i left a few things behind in the room (very appreciative). House keeping didnt check our room the second day we were there and we ran out of tissues and toilet paper, thank goodness they had extra towels.

The pros and cons of Callahan’s
Great location surrounded by pines and, although just a few yards from the freeway, it felt like it was well away. Nice holiday decorations. Big rooms and a comfortable bed. However, the carpet was gritty, and the breakfast, which promised to start at 6:30 am, proved to be without staff (kitchen dark), hot water, or anything fresh. I had to go in search of someone to get hot water for the oatmeal packet that represented the only somewhat appealing option; all three of the dry cereals in dispensers were sugary, as were the flavored yogurts (no plain yogurt) that, upon reading the labels, would supply me with 28% of the daily recommended amount of added sugars. In fact, if anything was truly in need of change it would be the F&B. At dinner in the sparsely populated dining room, the very nice waitress seemed to be so busy that we had to grab our own menus. The “New York” steak I ordered was so tough it was inedible and also salted to within an inch of its life. (To be fair, my friend ordered the fish and chips and said they were excellent .) The wine list was disappointing; Oregon is noted for its wines but nary a one could be found on the small list. There were almost more sugary cocktails listed than wines. I would seriously consider stopping here in the summer; the porch outside my room looked enticing despite the 26 degree weather and high winds. This lodge could be a real gem with some better management!
