Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The good the bad and the ugly
The language barrier was a problem right away I had prearranged transport from the airport to the hostel I called to let them know I was waiting outside baggage claim and ready to be picked up There was some confusion as the young woman I spoke with had very little English She got ahold of the driver who was supposed to be there in 15 to 20 minutes so I waited I’m an older woman with a bad hip but I love to travel so sometimes you just have to suck it up lol After 45 minutes I called again and got the run around again the 90 minute mark I called again and the driver seemed confused about how to pick somebody up at the airport?! Surely I’m not the first one Once I was in the car at about the 2hr mark he informed me we were going to a different location without any reason why (language barrier again)
When we arrived at the single story 4 bed 2 bath (only 1 for guests) house in a working class neighborhood and before attending to me in any way the driver got into a screaming fight with another guest and the police came It was not a great welcome to Miami moment
The shower was so dirty one of my roommates had to ask the young lady in charge to clean it which she did but while she was often cooking she never put out any kind of breakfast which was supposed to be included not even coffee was available
I never saw the pretty spanish house in the pictures but I was only half a block from Calle Ocho so the location could not have been better and I met two very nice roommates
Pros: Pleasant hostess. Nice looking. Hostel in the middle of Little Havana and all things related to that. Very nice neighborhood. Stay was great value for the dollar. Will come back when I can spend more time.
Cons: shared small room with six guys but it was my first time in a hostel. Really have no complaints. Glad for experience.
Shady neighborhood and was concerned about vehicle getting broke into. You share a bathroom with 10-12 people that is really run down. You get what you pay for.
Great place, nice staff, cheap travel options to airport from property, I found an amazing restaurant nearby, but otherwise location not the mooooost convenient.
It was a little hot in the room. The bed, and bathroom area pretty clean, but some areas by the shower could use some help. I was staying for one night and on a budget so the place was perfect for me. It is a hostel, that is what need to be understood, it is not a hotel, so much of the things that could be negatively criticized are part of the are just normal on hostels.
