The Upper West Side is a more residential area and is a very different experience than downtown,Times Sq etc etc. But the Hotels are also very limited. This being said, The Belleclaire is an older hotel. The rooms are avg size, narrow corridors etc etc. Just what you expect in NYC The rooms are clean and Comfortable. Breakfast is a coupon for a bakery next door. Expect helter skelter lineups there. Our room had a strong cigarette smell I suspect came From a neighboring room. All In all….. avg stay

The hotel position was great, near buses and shops/restaurant options around the hotel were great. I also felt safe walking around the area which is a big factor Some staff were friendlier than others. The downsides were the lifts where small and needed to sometimes wait about 10min to be able to get in with luggage and a few days 1 of the lifts was not working The breakfast options was not great as it was either pastries or sandwiches and sometimes yogurts, which is not a balanced breakfast, would be great if more fruit and vegetable options The room was sometimes cleaned well and other times not, soaps were not always given and had to ask multiple times for extra In conclusion it’s a lovely hotel, great area, clean but could do with. Few improvements and some staff could be more welcoming, especially on a long stay..

Nice older style hotel with reasonable facilities. A fridge in the room would've been a nice addition. A few hidden costs would've been nice disclosed before making a booking.
