I reserved a room with two beds, and was informed when I arrived that there was a room with two beds available but it had to be cleaned. I was offered a room with one regular bed and a pull-out sofa bed, or I could wait for the other room to be cleaned. I was in New York for a Knicks game, so I agreed to go to the game first and then complete the check-in process afterwards. When I returned, I was given an EXCUSE that there was a leak in the room with the two beds. I think that was their way of saying we gave your room to someone more important. I did receive 20% off, but I paid more to stay at the Hyatt because it was the only hotel in the area that I could find with two beds. It was a very uncomfortable sleep, with a bar in my back and the pillow repeatedly sliding off the top of the bed.
The next morning my son and I waited outside the elevators (4) for ten minutes before giving up and taking the stairs down 22 flights.
It was not a good stay; the sofa-bed situation, the elevator situation, and hearing every slamming door from 5 am on, was really not worth the extra $50-$60 I paid to stay at the "Hyatt." I will not do that again.
Thank you!
