Our frequent visit hotel!!
Fantastic as always! Have stayed here 11 times in 2 years—close to everything including a discounted parking garage. The location next to the subway is also a bonus! The rooms are a little small but they are clean and utilitarian. For us, location and cleanliness are the most important factors. The rooftop bar is spectacular! And so is the lobby bar!

loved this hotel! Our daughter attends NYU and we were walking distance to her and great shopping and restaurants. The common areas of this hotel are beautiful. We so appreciated the complementary coffee starting at 7AM. There was nice space to read and relax and enjoy the coffee. The coffee bar with bagels and pastries was great, too. It was nice to have a casual option. While there was a rockin' club vibe going on when we checked in at 12 midnight, our room was serene with calming decor.

While the design of the hotel is lovely and the staff that I interacted with were very lovely, the hotel doesn’t feel like a four star experience. I complained on the first evening but had to complain again to get any resolution or even a reply. The manager was helpful but not until my third day of a five day trip. I wish the mini bar was stocked. Also That my towels didn’t have stains. When you book a room with a pull out couch you should also be asked if you need bedding and then supplied proper bedding- we never got a duvet for the pull out couch but by the time someone was finally attentive my assistant was leaving and I no longer was using the bed. The manager did make up for It but it’s unfortunately too late. The worse part is the cafe. The food is horrible and extremely expensive. Save your money and your stomach and just walk to a cafe or whole foods for a snack.

My stay at the PUBLIC was long overdue. I loved the weekend vibe here, it was super lively on one of the last beautiful Fridays of the year. Staff was attentive, room is small but effective, and the amenities are great. I’ll be back for a few days next time
