We stayed at DoubleTree Times Square south while on a short, fast-paced trip to NYC. We paid a bit extra for an Empire State Building view (worth it). The rooftop bar offers amazing, almost 360, views of the city. Reception area can get slightly busy at check in/out times as it’s only small. Our biggest moan would be the elevators, with only 3 serving the 29 floors. You sometimes have to wait a while.

The hotel room was very small and the noise from 8th ave was very loud with horns honking and sirens all night. Updates to windows are needed to reduce noise from the street below from the 17th floor.

The location was great. The room was the size of a closet and for 438 dollars not worth the price. The staff was great and the room was clean but way too small for 2 people with luggage

Great stay for a night! We needed a late check out and Dannia ar the front desk was more than accomodating! Customer service at this hotel is wonderful. Room, however was a little small. We had a great night sleep though as the beds were comfortable and it was a very quiet space.

I was expecting New York rudeness from the staff. I had prepared myself for it before arriving to the big apple. I arrived and I was totally wrong. The staff at the hotel was so friendly and I can’t say more about the hospitality. We were greeted by Muhammad and Edward at the front. They offered to hold our luggage because we arrived early and check-in wasn’t until 4pm. We got to enjoy our day checking out the sites without having to lug our suitcases around. The staff at the desk and housekeeping were also wonderful. Don’t hesitate. Just book it. This is a great hotel that is centralized and 2 blocks from the Amtrak station. One block away from the subway.

Location great. View of the empire state great also. Disappointed with the hotel, contacted before to say my wife’s 40th special occasion please can something be left in the room. Was told it had been noted but nothing done on arrival. Quite disappointing

The hotel is in the perfect location. Right next to penn station where you can get anywhere in the city and to the airport. Lovely staff and the room was bigger than I thought it would be! Beds very comfy would definitely recommend and stay again :)

The lighting in the room is not great. There should be at least one other lamp, given there is no overhead lighting. It is somewhat loud - But in a busy area. (I have stayed in other places nearby and it is less noisy) The location is great if you want to be near TImes Square but not right in it. Walkable to many many locations. Subway nearby. Staff was very helpful, friendly -- excellent.

It was nice to check in early. The staff was super nice and very accommodating. Our TV was giving us issues and a staff member came to look at it immediately. We were able to store our bags after checkout so we didn't have to haul them around at the Macy Day parade. All these things made for a very pleasant stay. We would definitely stay again!

I would like to recognize the performance and kindness of Mohammed (bellboy) , the front desk Manager (don't remember the name) and also one lady from the front desk, she have short black hair and glasses she speaks English and Spanish (also don't remember the name). Overall great hotel, I felt safe and it was very convenient to al the NYC sites. There was a lot of noise from the street traffic every night, but that’s to be expected.
