I had to change rooms twice. The first room I was given the A/C was not working & the second room there was some loud noises coming from the vent which made it impossible to sleep. The staff were very helpful in assisted me with alternative solutions but it just didn’t meet my standards, besides that it is situated in a great location.

The Royalton was adequate for our 3-night stay in New York in mid-September 2024. The hotel foyer is very lovely, but under-utilised since Covid times (as other Reviews have pointed out). The staff were very pleasant & attentive. The property was neat and clean. The elevators were quite small but there were several of them, and they moved quickly between floors. Our room 506 was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed was very good, as was the bathroom. The shower was really nice, water pressure strong …and the water was nice & hot. Our room had a mini-fridge, but no jug/kettle or teas/coffee or cups in our room. However staff quickly provided us those when we asked for them. There was no TV in our room (but that didn’t bother us, as we were out most of the time). The hotel had good, free wifi. The hotel is a little dated, but that is to be expected in an older building in the centre of New York. The cost per night was reasonable when compared to the other hotels in inner-city New York and close to Times Square. The hotel is in a fabulous inner-city location…& it was for the excellent location and reasonableness of cost that we chose to stay there. It was an easy walk to Times Square & Broadway theatres, and there was an excellent choice of restaurants and cafes (and even a small supermarket) in close proximity. We absolutely loved the restaurant “Gatsby’s Landing”, about 150m away. The food was sensational and the staff outstanding! The owner, Emilio, really looked after us!

So disappointing. I would not recommend to anyone. Had a friend staying a couple days later and advised her to cancel. No coffee no room service no restaurant. Would have been nice to know that prior to making a reservation. Hotel desolate.

The staff during the our check in was amazing provided us a free upgrade since it was our first visit to NYC and gave amazing recommendations for food in the area. There was a booklet they could share. Water was available when asked at the front desk. The only downside is, there's no in house restaurant and there wasn't a kettle to boil water/make coffee. Other than that it was pretty good, I would come back!

The staff was incredibly nice. The rooms are fine - not luxury, but clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to know that the hotel bar/restaurant was closed for renovations when we made the reservation.

Terrific hotel except for their television system!
This is my third stay at this hotel. I was upgraded so very pleased because some of the rooms are very dark. All the staff were lovely, particularly the front desk — Marco and Maria. But I HATE their television system which gives you only about five English channels and no cable. They assume all guests subscribe individually to Netflix, etc. so if you don't, it's like being in a 1960s hotel room. Otherwise I am happy to recommend The Royalton

Our first night had some struggles (attendant called to help carry up bags but they didn't come, called for towel and they didn't bring them, room's phone batteries were dying so the phone beeped all night). The hotel however remedied this by offering a discount for each night we stayed there. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Convenient location. Clean room.
