The hotel is incredibly well located, which was a big sell for us. We had two adjoining rooms in a suite for us and our kids, and the space was great. The pullout bed was not that comfortable for the kids, but our queen bed was great. We had to ask for extra pillows (there were only two for 4 of us) but we got them right away. Lots of dust in the bedrooms and grime in the bathroom. The kitchenette in the room was very handy for storing things but came with no plates or utensils, so hard to make any food. The location and space of our rooms was great though, so we’d consider staying there again.

It was just fantastic it was a short visit but they allowed me to check in at 12pm instead of 4pm which was huge as well as to check out 1 hour later at no cost also a very nice. Very helpful in every aspect. Will be my hotel from now on when I want to stay in the Citi. If it would have included breakfast it would have been amazing. Thanks again

Every year we travel to nyc in December. We usually stay at the Lexington Autograph hotel. This year we booked too late so decided to try this hotel. Everything was good until check out. The hotel allows 2 bottles of waters per day. Me and my intellectually disabled daughter stayed for 4 days. We utilized only 2 waters the entire stay. Upon checkout i requested a free bottle of water. The gentleman that checked us out stated I would be charged for the bottle of water. Seriously?!!! You lost this customer over a bottle of water.

5 Star Experience in Central New York
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sonesta, specifically service, front desk, door, and luggage room personnel were very kind and helpful. Location of hotel is in the center and Grand Central is within walking distance. There are not many downsides. Only downside I can recall is elevator is a bit old and maybe it can have update in future, other was close 5 star experience.

Room was nice , wall paper was peeling off at entry , ice in ice machine was old and stuck in a block, shower head was in disrepair meaning more water ran out the bottom than on you, only two pillow per bed and not the same ones as far as firmness, the heat was so dry we all had sore throats and one bloody nose. The 97 charge for two drinks/ snacks a day and use of exercise equipment even though I didn’t want it was just a flat out scam. Other than that is was okay.
