Wonderful Murray Hill hotel.
My wife and I stayed at the Sonesta Shelburne Hotel when my son was at NYU Langone Hospital, Nice walk to NYU Langone locations on 38th and 34 th streets. Location in Murray Hill offered many good restaurants within walking distance. Murray Hill is a very nice, residential neighborhood. We stayed in the studio suite with the Kitchenette. Front desk staff was great- friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Doormen were always welcoming when arriving and when storing luggage. Very quiet area so we had good night sleeps in comfortable beds. The hotel has a street level restaurant, Take Care, where we had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vintage Green is the new rooftop bar and restaurant . Having stayed in many NYC hotels in midtown, I would highly recommend the Sonesta. We returned for a week stay and again for a 2 night stay. Staff is wonderful.

I was very impressed by the hotel and the staff. Excellent service and room. The rooftop bar was elegant yet inviting. Conveniently walking distance to Grand Central Station, Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue shopping. Plenty of pubs and restaurants close. I will stay here the next visit to Manhattan.

The front desk needs to work on their courtesy to all guests. It took way too long for me to check in. The room was older and I found hair in the bathroom. At one point there was staff yelling at someone in the hallway. More noise than I’d like in a hotel. I had a do. It disturb sign on but kept getting constantly asked about room service. I probably won’t stay there again.

This was the perfect location for taking my niece and nephew on their first trip to NYC! Super convenient to all neighborhoods with a short walk to grand central station. The staff was friendly and helpful! They offered one of the few rooms with 2 queen beds to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. I would pick this hotel again for sure!
