The staff are the stars in this Hotel. Every one of them was pleasant, cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had on one of our frequent overnight stopovers when we make our regular trips from down South to up North. It’s our first time at this hotel but the breakfast really excels in comparison to other hotels in the locality.

Hotel was generally good, except for the lack of air conditioning. The two rooms we booked did have a fan, but it was soooo hot, and not because it was a hot day. 22/23 degrees with rain! So room was hard to sleep in at nighttime. The dinner/breakfast deal was good value. Both were pretty good. A good stop over though to go up to the Lake District.

Loved the location of the property for visiting Alton Towers. Room clean and beds comfortable, air con not working in 38 degree heat was less than ideal with a 5 year old. Staff very apologetic, not their fault I guess which is why we didn’t complain… but just felt disappointed as it did affect our stay greatly. If the air con had been working I’d have given 5*.
