Loved the amazing view of the ocean, pools and how the lobby resort its self was different compared to other resorts. This one had more of a jungle vibe which was a great change! The workers were always willing to help and were very generous! Great food as well.

While the property is in a very nice area, the managing of the property and operations itself can benefit from some upgrades: 1) Food options seem limited. On more than one occasion, I wanted to go out of the resort to find better food options. 2) Some of the property areas need to be fixed (there was a water stain on a column in the Mexican restaurant, which is one of the two sit-down restaurants on the property). 3) Some services can add value to the experience, such as room service. 4) Be honest about what "all-inclusive means." I was told activity items were included, though it was only available for 30-minutes and then could be rented at an extra charge. 5) Have the basic necessities covered. On multiple occasions, the bars did not have cups available. 6) Have better options for grill and make the tacos available any time, not just between 10pm-2am. 7) Have more activities during the week, not just over the weekend. My famliy was there for 7 days, from Wed to Wed. We saw the difference in what was offered.

Great location great food great staff, dark jungle vibe. I prefer something a bit more tropical for next time as I missed the color, we did a lot of excursions, including swimming with sea turtles I rented a car from the resort for one day we swim in a cenote and did the explorer by Zcaret which was great good to get off the beach for a day out of the sun huge waterslide was insane bring your own ocean floats and yetis!

For the price, we thought that the Reef Playacar was a great bargain. The room was clean. The beach was excellent. The staff worked relentlessly to keep the entire facility clean. The restaurant had fewer options than what most all-inclusive resorts have, but the overall quality of the food at the buffet was really good. There were always beach chairs available. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return.

First, the resort caters to spanish speaking guests. In terms of entertainment you are out of luck if you dont speak spanish. They do not restock your fridge or your coffee maker. Very hard to get into the specialty restaurants.i got in to the Italian one and it not good. The buffet was the same thing every day just about. We went to town for dinner a few times. Service getting drinks was spotty at best. The beds were rock hard. There was always a smell of burning rubber or trash outside that permeated the rooms . Ive been to Mexico alot and this was my worst experience.

Playacar offers great all inclusive resorts, but we keep coming back at The Reef Playacar. Great service, personalized and honest smiles. Our family had a worderful time, again. During our last night chef Acosta prepared a special Mexican dinner just for us. A 3-course meal that was Top-notch! Full of flavor! Thank you very much.

We are repeat visitors to the Reef Playacar. This was either our 8th or 9th time here. We keep coming back because it has a more boutique hotel feel, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Looks like they have upgraded some of the decor in the rooms and refreshed the dining are which made it seem much more upscale. Also this is one of the few hotels that cleans up the saggrasium every day although this time there was very little.

I absolutely loved everything about the property and staff. Me and my family enjoyed the amenities of the reef. During check in/out i was overly stressed and the staff assisted me with calming words and for that im forever grateful. The main and only thing i didnt like was not having accessible water in the dorm fridge during the duration of the stay.

Like many reviews mention, food is VERY bland. I read those reviews before booking and thought I’d take a chance as I’m not the picky type. I did eat at the buffet and the Mexican restaurant and it did the job of killing the hunger but definitely was very poor quality food. Very tasteless and plain. I had a burger at the snack bar and it was probably the worst and cheapest (quality not price) burger I’ve ever had, like school cafeteria type of quality. My family is more selective than me and they are very little because of how bland the food was. And as for the Mexican restaurant, I never thought that the worst fajitas I ever had would be in Mexico. Do yourself a favor and skip the all inclusive package and just eat out for real food. Rooms were also dirty and flors full of sand. You couldn’t walk bare feet without a bunch of stuff sticking to your feet in the rooms. On a positive, every employee I interacted with was very friendly and pleasant.
