Check in all good. Room 117. Excellent air con in room !!
Sink plug closed and wouldn’t open. Water not getting away. Hubby looked at it underneath and said it looked as if it had been broken ‘for a while’. Down to reception and in fairness the girl came up and had a look. Couldn’t mend. I misunderstood as I thought someone else was coming to get it mended. I was wrong.
Anyway went down and had a lovely swim in the pool. Then to dinner. This is where management need to step up their training of staff and their food quality. 2 men on duty and 1 obviously more senior/experienced. Lots of tiny things such as giving water but no glasses, not taking the order properly and having to repeat many times, not checking who is getting what and setting down the wrong food, not clearing dinner things before dessert,literally taking glasses and plates away before you were finished , not returning promptly… you get the picture. It was not just our table either as we noticed several tables waiting / asking again for items etc. We did not think that the food was so good either. Chips not cooked properly- how can a 4 star hotel get this wrong? Hubby did not really rate the burger either. It is not as if the place was busy. Dessert was good. Staff (under care of management) need more training.
Excellent night’s sleep- great quality bed linen and very comfortable bed. Shower all good. No hairdryer (that we could find) - 4 stars? Breakfast the next day was very good compared to dinner.
