BYOP. Bring your own pillow. No joke. Pillows were cheap and super light. Rooms were outdated but simple. No AC so bring a fan. Would stay here again tho.

The staff in lobby was wonderful. I enjoyed talking with her during my stay. I loved that the beach was right outside the back door and was easy to walk down to the beach.

Affordable vacay for the fam
The main purpose of staying here is the location which is right on the beach. Amazing! The room we had this time had a full size fridge which was very helpful. It is an older building, has a vintage feel to it. We have stayed here multiple times in the past and always enjoyed our stay. It is all about the beach and this is the most affordable place to enjoy that. We used the ice machine that is available which was nice to have. Prompt service when needing towels, etc. Everything works but is older and a bit run down. If you really want to be using the kitchenette bring your own knives, the ones provided are dull and dangerous.

Highly Recommend Silver Sands Motel
I love his motel!!!!! I was lucky enough to have a room and a patio facing the beach. I walked right from my room to the beach. The room was so cozy. It had a large fridge. microwave and a coffee pot. Nice swivel tv.

The stay was fine. The rooms were fine. The bathroom toilets are terrible. They look like little kid toilets really need to be replaced to higher toilets. Showers were very slippery and no hand guards. My main concern was the toilet. The toilet seat was oblong and the toilet was round And so low my mother being a little older, was having a lot of trouble getting up off of that toilet or even on the toilet because it was so low going down that would be such a benefit if they would invest in higher toilets

Staff were very kind. Advised the cleaning staff would not enter the room unless we requested the room to be clean. Best part it was right on the beach on the first floor.

Great location, tired motel
Location is amazing . I had panoramic views of the ocean from my room in the second floor. The check in was easy and good. That said, room itself was shabby and just depressing. Dark brown covers, old pillows, mismatched chairs. Dirty coffee cups. Desperately needs some TLC. Price definitely reflects the ambiance 😞

This is our 2nd time here. It was our anniversary the 1st time and we discovered rockaway and this place. Its not fancy but it is comfortable and right on the beach. So we came back for our anniversary again and no doubt will next year.
