This hotel is truly exceptional. The quality of the rooms are very very good. I stay in hotels approximately 100-120 nights each year, and this is my favourite of all of them. Can’t say any more than that.
The Devonport is a very friendly, efficiently run gastro pub and restaurant with boutique rooms. All the staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Covid precautions were all in place. The food quality was excellent and reasonably priced. The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and stylish with all the amenities you would need. I would definitely recommend the Devonport for both dining and for their accommodation. I look forward to returning.
This place is a little gem. My parents lived in the village for years, so I've known the hotel/bar/restaurant for a long time and must say, that the new owners have really put a lot of effort into updating it into a very beautiful place. The staff are so friendly and very efficient and the food is absolutely delicious! Looking forward to a return visit.
Immaculately clean and I mean sparkling throughout the pub/restaurant and rooms. Very friendly and professional staff who are attentive but not overbearing. The room and bathroom very comfortable and fresh shortbread biscuits on the tea tray a lovely touch. We had some of the best fish and chips ever here too. Breakfast was very good and set us up for our working day. Overall, a fantastic stay and we will definitely return next time we are in the area - cannot recommend highly enough
As I travel a lot on business, it is refreshing to stay in a "personal" type of hotel.
Stunning room, great breakfast, and lovely Bar/Restaurant, complete with a log fire and personal service
Short tourist trip for 3 adult family mbrs. Hotel has recently been refurbished and is comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff were lovely, friendly and efficient. It didn't matter how many people were eating - and it was very busy at times - there was always enough staff - well done management. We would certainly go back especially as we didn't have time to explore the local walks or the other restaurants owned by the family..
Comfortable and relaxing 3 nights in this beautifully renovated hotel/pub. Beautiful bedroom and breakfast and evening meals excellent. Will stay again.
Arrived to find a For Sale sign on wall and all doors locked. Phoned a mobile number and were let in. The hotel is closed due to change of hands and is being refurbished. There was no record of our booking through Expedia! Slept well as two single beds made a super-king and bed was comfy and it was very quiet and nice and warm. Enjoyed the pub quiz on the Sunday evening when the bar was packed. Looking forward to seeing what the hotel will be like when we go again.
Lovely hotel, great rrom with a king size bed, lovely restaurant, very nice staff, a really friendly place, the only small negative was that the bathrooms was in need of refurbishment, but it was functional
