Friends visiting Seoul together, we stayed here for a week at the end of May 2024.
Initially i really thought i would be leaving a great review for this hotel, it was easy to find, welcoming, the staff spoke great English so there were no communication issues with staff, the room was nice and comfy, we had a nice view, the bathroom was good and I am already missing the bidet!
BUT
when choosing the hotel for our stay, we chose Hamilton SPECIFICALLY because we knew the weather would be hot and we wanted to spend those hot days swimming in a nice outdoor pool, so we picked Hamilton because it seemed perfect.
Of course it wasnt until we had been there for a day already that we discovered the pool was closed. I asked front desk, they said it wasnt the season, the pool would open next month she told me with a smile.
I was upset, i checked on hotels.com where we had booked to see if it said when the pool was open, it didnt. I check Hamilton hotels website, that didnt either. So its not like i had just missed the dates when i booked. I asked Hotels.com if i could get a refund (to move hotel for the remainder of our trip to one with an open pool) they said it was up to the hotel. The hotel said no (of course).
The pool being closed shouldnt be a big deal, but just put the open season somewhere that guests can check when they book! If it had said it would be closed for our trip we would have booked elsewhere and saved £200 doing so!
I just wanted to swim in the 30°C sunshine!
