And with 8,300,000 people living in the capital of Japan, there's ample opportunity to gain some new BFFs. Shibuya is 5 kilometres west of the city centre. If you're coming in from Haneda Airport, dump your suitcase in the boot of a taxi and drive 14 kilometres northwest.
Shibuya is heaven on earth for sightseers. A good deal of the city's best attractions are dotted near this interesting neighbourhood, including Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Imperial Palace. Nothing beats the feeling of excitement when a show is about to get under way. Watch the curtains go up at the Kabuki-za Theatre, Suntory Hall, the Bunkamura and the New National Theatre Tokyo.
