I had a nice stay at New Place - room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Lovely setting with beautiful grounds. The bar was nice for a pre dinner drink and nice historic elements. It would’ve been helpful to know the parts of the hotel to avoid / which we could access as there was a wedding being hosted and we were confused if the bar / restaurant were open as usual
Was humid but no air conditioning or temp controls in room wasn’t ideal. Checkin was quick as was checkout. Grounds are lovely and the main building is very picturesque inside and out. Staff are ok, quick passive and lack the skills that most nice hotels demand. Breakfast was ok, everything ready cooked and kept warm so best to come early.
Good comfy bed, plenty of space in the room, very clean, ample power sockets, great bathroom. Use of the pool was great, changing room were warm & spotless. Good menu in the restaurant/ bar, splendid choice of drinks..will return.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of hanging space although no drawers. There was a good selection of tea and coffee available in the room although the uht milk curdled my tea.
Nice that Dove toiletries were provided in the bathroom.
There was plenty of choice for breakfast.
The historic building where the restaurant was housed is gorgeous. Huge fireplaces, high ceilings and panelled walls. I googled the history of New Place whilst eating breakfast. It would be nice if that information was available for visitors.
I would definitely stay again
What a lovely place, cant understand why its only 3 star as it it easily couls be 4 star.. breakfast was lovely with lots of choices.

Reasonable rooms, imagine would be good for conferences. Limited tea and coffee, had to ask for towels as incorrect number, toiletries are dove.
Very pricey bar.
Carpets could do with a deep clean
Walls very thin and could hear the couple next door conversing until midnight. Did ask for a quiet room at reception but was advised the best way to achieve this would be to upgrade at a cost
Room had no noise insulation so up all night, dogs barking , people talking , and a six o'clock wake-up.
Breakfast poor, no eggs no bacon , no marmalade,

Not worth the money
Quite tired and not terribly clean - dirty glasses left outside of our rooms and mouldy bathroom ceiling. Rooms need better ventilation as even someone’s shower set off the fire alarm at 0650 in the morning. The window in one of our rooms couldn’t be locked. Staff didn’t seem to be aware that dairy free milk was an option when asked, even though I then found it myself at the breakfast buffet. Gluten free food was served even though we explicitly said one of our party was gluten intolerant, however this was subsequently dealt with well by the manager. Needs a refresh and better staff training.
