The closet had hangers extended past the sliding doors so you could never use the closet- and the switches for the bed lights were on the outside of the lamps so you could not switch off from your bed- you had to get out of bed to turn off the lights. The lights in half of the lobby were off as well as the heat. The front desk team had to wear coats as they checked in their guests. We were told that there was no staff as it was a holiday weekend. We did not pay holiday reduced rates- I am pretty sure that this is not a corporate Marriott property. The staff that was working was all very friendly and accommodating.
I have nothing to complain about regarding the staff. Very pleasant and informative. Check in and out is a breeze. The room was spotless. The only issue I had was my room was facing a restaurant, and there were dumpsters outside the balcony area. The employees of the restaurant were banging the top of the dumpsters literally all night, until the early morning hours, taking out the trash. I was woken up every time they did until at least 4:00 am. The room was in great condition, but be advised that there is no microwave. There is also no hair dryer, so you may want to start tour shower early to have time for your hair to dry before bed, or remember to travel with one. Parking can be very limited on a busy weekend night if arriving back to hotel late at night. The dumpsters at the restaurant are no fault of the hotel, but be advised to try to book a room on the other side of the hotel if you want to sleep.
The hotel was very convenient to Penn State activities. My only complaint is that the floor above me had children running, jumping (sounding like jumping off of beds) through the night. We did finally call down to the front desk and the noise did stop but with no carpets (which I like) there is no absorption to sound.

Our room was great, staff was great !
Hotel was under construction. The workout room needs work and needs to be cleaned more often. There were workers outside our balcony dumping construction stuff.
Good place to stay if you are attending any events at Penn State. Beds are comfortable and it is restful there. The ice machines on our floor were not working which was a bit of a pain and it should be fixed. I would also suggest they provide free coffee and water in the mornings as most establishments provide this.
The staff were friendly and kind. The cleanliness was wonderful! The bed was so comfortable, I looked forward to going to sleep every night. While I didn't use the pool or gym, I could tell they were rather nice and the kids in the hotel certainly enjoyed the pool. I was impressed they had a guest laundry for folks staying for a while. It was the perfect location for my visit to Penn State, as I was able to easily drive to each of my events and it was convenient to nearby shopping. It felt very safe for me as a single female traveling alone. I will definitely stay here again next time I need to come to the area.
Monday during checkin and Tuesday morning the hotel was significantly under staffed. Breakfest was not worth the cost and not good compared to Hilton Garden Inns. Rest rooms out of service on main lobby. Credit card reader not working at coffee counter. Coffee maker in room was filthy. I come to State College every year and will hestiate to stay here again.
The hotel is clean, has comfortable beds, close location to PSU campus. Located near restaurants and shops.
The newly remodeled showers are nice.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
