Dirty Hotel

Our stay at the Sandman Hotel came with several unpleasant surprises. The carpet in the room was extremely dirty, to the point we didn’t feel comfortable walking on it. The pool water was brown with visible particles, clearly unclean. In the morning, the coffee service was poor—when I opened a small cream cup, it was moldy and blue. Thankfully, I checked before pouring it in my coffee. These issues raise serious health concerns, and I reported them to Ontario Health. I truly hope management addresses these problems so future guests can have a safe and comfortable

There was a birthday party in the room next door, which ruined my stay. A room with a sofa bed would be great for families. The bathroom door was very noisy and needs maintenance.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the mattress on the cabinets and countertops was look new. However, the cleaning was not thorough, and all the counters were dusty, and the carpet was also full of dust and lint. The bed sheets were clean and tidy. There were coffee stains on the coffee cups and lids.

The property was nice and I appreciated having a Denny’s attached to it. It was quite convenient for me and my family. I had a quick and easy check-in and the staff were all nice! However, the location around the hotel was a bit barren. There were bus stops nearby which made it easy to get to where I wanted, but I feel like the area isn’t too walkable. The housekeeping came early, at around 9-10 AM or so. I feel like we usually sleep in quite late so that was unfortunate. They also have a separate tag for you to hang on your door if you want your room to be cleaned. We missed that, so be sure to hang it on your door if you need any cleaning or replenishing for your room!

We really like this property. We have been here many years ago and had returned. The only disappointing feature was that the slide on the pool which was so memorable years ago is now out of commission.
