This was a truly luxurious experience in every sense of the term. The restored Chateau was beautiful, and the decision to not only restore it but update it to today's tastes made the rooms the perfect mix of historical atmosphere and modern comfort. But it was the staff who made the experience absolutely wonderful. Every detail was addressed professionally, from the refreshing "nine-flower" herbal welcome drink and hot washcloth at registration, to the special little cookies and message during turn-down at night. The hotel was able to handle larger issues, too. For example, the staff was able to arrange the services of a college student Czech-English translator during the days as we wandered the countryside. And, while the gourmet restaurant meals were delicious, we never felt the staff was looking down on us when we decided that all we really wanted to do was to sit on the outdoor terrace during "happy hour" and have a couple of mugs of Pilzner Urquell beer instead of fancy cocktails or one of the vintage bottles from the wine cellar.
