Best Western Plus Sands was exactly what we wanted for our short weekend trip to Vancouver. The easy walking distance to Stanley Park, including the wonderful Second Beach public pool, was just what we needed. The front desk staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Though simple, the small balcony gave us the outside space to enjoy a pizza from the store across the street and watch the sunset. I would recommend the 5th floor balcony rooms for sure.

We enjoyed being close to the beach and dining. The pictures show a "beach view," but you have to crane your neck around the corner to see the beach. Beds were comfortable and staff was helpful.

Beware of room 519. You can hear the elevator constantly in operation from the room, which made it shake. I would have asked for another room but had I already setup my toddlers area that it was more of a hassle. The toilet also would not flush properly. The hotel is very close to a lot of food places and walkable to the beach and park
