10/10 LOVE the Moxy DC!
Second time staying here and it never disappoints! The views, walk ability of the area, the staff- amazing! The beds are comfy and the rooms are clean. The staff are happy and friendly and make you feel at home. Great place to stay for a young/hip vibe but also get your rest after sightseeing and the DC food and bar scene

I booked this hotel because of the trendy decor and fun games in the lobby. However, the setup is a little too contemporary for my liking. The check-in counter is at the hotel bar, so you're checking into your room next to someone that may be ordering a cocktail. The room itself was tiny. I got a king bed and it just fits in the room basically wall-to-wall to the point, that I didn't even have to get out the bed to open the blinds. The bed has no comforter, but only a thin blanket and the sheets were scratchy. My bed at home is more comfortable than that. The shower stall had grime in the corners and the water came out brown at first from the faucet. The listing for the hotel advertised a free buffet breakfast, but when I went down for breakfast at 9am, there was only breakfast for purchase. The concierge blamed it on Expedia for having the wrong information about the breakfast service. The rooftop restaurant, Lucha Rosa, was the best part by a little. They had a DJ the night I was there, so it was lively. The cocktails were tasty, but the food was bland. The staff in the hotel seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else and it really didn't have a warm and inviting feeling. I booked because it had great reviews, but my experience didn't line up at all with others. I'm just really disappointed in my stay at this hotel.

Smaller yet highly efficient rooms. Wonderful atmosphere. Could have never left the hotel as it was a hotel,bar, food, and entertainment all in one. Will actively search for moxy hotels while traveling.

So to start this place is clean, super convenient location, and in a safe area of DC. The staff are excellent and the food at both bars is very good along with drinks. Yes, the rooms are very small and that doesn’t really bother me. What lost two stars was the comfort aspect. The room is so small and enclosed the humidity levels in the room from the showers due to no fans in the bathroom make everything feel damp. Frizz control on my hair was at an all time low. My next issue is the sheets and “blanket.” They were so rough and scratchy it was uncomfortable to sleep in them. The “blanket” was almost see through and felt like sandpaper. The top layer is basically a thicker top sheet. The bed was comfortable at least but nothing else about it was so I got very little sleep. I do not recommend unless they invest in central dehumidification and better bedding.
