Good hotel

Great staff who were friendly and accommodating. Generally the room and bathroom was clean. Some improvement could be made within the rooms. For instance upgrading general decor/condition of rooms. Temperature control would be useful. Our door was temperamental. Good location for park and ride use.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was roomy and our bed was very comfortable. Our room and bathroom were very clean. Public areas were comfortable. The only downside for us was that we had to eat in the bar as there was a conference and coach parties in the restaurant.

We originally booked two nights but needed the book and extra night at start. Reception altered booking so we didn't need to change rooms after first night this was not passed on to house keeping. So cleaners and house keeping were chasing up the next day why we weren't out of room three times we were disturbed and passed on reason. When room was cleaned following day beds were made and bins emptied, toilet or sink not cleaned. We had breakfast one morning no the best slot of the plates were dirty where they obviously went out unchecked, slow to replenish items. Bacon and eggs hard under hot lamp. Very underwhelming. Grounds hotel were set in were lovely. Rooms desperate need of but if refurbishment. Overall okish.

Ideal for visits to York.

Lovely stay breakfast was great too certainly worth having . Friendly staff , rooms good size and lots of open space outside ideal for visits to York. Would stay again .

great stay

I am gluten and dairy free due to allergies and was unsure what on the menu I could eat. I spoke to the waiter, who spoke to the chef, and he made me gluten-free fish and chips and a dairy-free horseradish sauce, which was delicious and much appreciated!

Only stayed 1 night which was grand from check in with lovely helpful lass on reception who mcould not have been more helpful. Bar and restaurant staff very polite, helpful and efficient. Some of the decor and furniture in the rooms looking tired and in need of sprucing up. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would not hesitate to stay again.

The hotel was excellent and a stones throw from the park and ride which was great for going into the centre of York. The hotel itself was great the staff was really polite and helpful nothing was to much for them to do and the meals were very good we will definitely be going back there again
