On the positive side, the staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. However, the rooms were really worn down. We paid for a room with two double beds, advertised as one of the larger ones, but it was very small. The beds were comfortable, and the water pressure was good even on higher floors. Getting an elevator during busy hours was a bit of a challenge, but not too bad. The location was excellent.
Breakfast was disappointing — the food was just okay, and the breakfast room was far too small for the size of the hotel and the number of guests in the morning. The breakfast staff, however, was again extremely friendly.
Overall, mixed feelings. For the price we paid, I would have been very disappointed anywhere else, but I guess this kind of poor value for high prices is fairly typical in NYC.
