Great stay.
We come to NYC every year, and though previous hotels have been fine, we thought we would try the San Carlos Hotel for a different area of Manhattan. Loved our stay. Though we didn't really use the kitchenette, it was nice to have. For mid-town, the value cannot be beaten. We'll be back. The fitness room was adequate--suggest adding 25 pound free weights.

This hotel is beautiful, bed is comfortable and the room is a nice size. I gave this a low rating for the resort fee. I do not understand this practice as there are no pools to maintain. It is not a resort, so why charge the fee. Its a pretty high resort fee as well. I will not return as a result. The charge for the hotel itself is moderately priced, bit the resort fee makes this hotel comparable to anywhere else.

The team at the hotel were excellent they were all very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spacious for Manhattan and well looked after by the housekeeping team. I look forward to returning.

Location, location, location.
We found the location to be excellent - very easy access to several different subway stops and an easy walk to anyplace midtown but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be quiet and quite pleasant. Our room faced the interior and was very quiet. The room was wonderfully spacious which we very much appreciated. All in all an excellent place at a decent value.
