Soul renewal
Our stay in October could not have been any better. It was just what we needed to rejuvenate our spirit after a near fatal accident 2 months prior. The staff was so friendly and helpful and accommodating by giving us a room that was beach walk up and a walk in shower because steps and stairs are challenging due to my husbands injuries. The staff was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious. The kitchenette was perfectly equipped for cooking for two. Parking was a breeze, we parked in front of our room every time. We love this place, and the price didn't break the bank. A super value . We will come back here every time. The location was perfect, it was quiet and relaxing and the view was great with beautiful sunsets. Serenity at its best. The only down side to our stay is that it wasn't long enough.

There was ants all in the kitchen. They didn’t come to clean but every 4 days, which normally I would say is okay but it’s on the beach so sand was coming in no matter what. So there was sand everywhere floors, beds. Also the AC did not get cold at all and we could hardly sleep it was so hot in the rooms at night. The shower was a really poor design and water leaked all over the bathroom and used up most of our towels just trying to keep it semi-dry.

All good things come to an end eventually!
We have stayed at sugar sands several times. When we stayed there in 2011 for our honeymoon it was wonderful. We stayed several times after for family vacation. We stopped staying there the past few years because the price became very expensive. This time was our 13 year anniversary and it was off season and very reasonably priced so we tried it again. Not what we expected. 1St off our room wasn't ready when we got there at 4:30 pm. We didn't get to check in until 6:30 pm. They informed us that they are short staffed... understandable. Upon entering the room we were greeted with the stench of alcohol. Lightbulbs missing. The only switch for lights for the whole place was in the hall bunk bed area.. weird. 2 dim lights in the bedroom with a switch on the bedside table. We used our 📲 to find them. There was a 3 ft bubble on the ceiling where I guess there was a leak above. The ceiling above the bunk beds was black/grey and flaking all over the top bunk. We weren't using it anyways. The ceiling in the bathroom was black and moldy above the shower, but the rest of the bathroom was new. The equipped kitchen had very little accessories. It used to be very accommodating. Once bought out and ran by new owners/ resort the condition is deteriorating quickly. We stayed and made the best of the situation. The beach there is quite and beautiful. Probably won't go back again .

The location away from the crowds was unmatched. The beach was pristine. The beds were comfortable and clean! The balcony was loud and wet due to the air conditioning unit. The elevator was questionable and extremely slow! All in all a good choice for people wanting an affordable room for vacation but if you require much more than a clean room you probably need to keep looking!

Really enjoyed our stay, could use some updates to property, walkways to the beach needs some repairs. Building as a whole needs repairs. But room was very clean. Was quite and not crowded in October which is what I liked!!!

Lovely Stay
Great stay!! But first off, this isn’t a fancy, brand new hotel. It’s been around a minute and probably weathered a ton of storms, BUT it was clean and right on the beach. It has a kitchenette which was SUPER handy. I could listen to the ocean waves and also the pool was right outside my door. ALSO, just Steps to the beach. The girls in the office were super sweet and very helpful. The only complaint I have is the beds weren’t the most comfortable but I’ve seen worse. I would still and probably definitely will stay here again! We’ll be back for sure. Easy peesy for just me and my hubby.
