Highly DO NOT recommend these properties!
We arrived on Friday for our 3-night stay at which time we encountered multiple issues with both properties. The exhaustive list includes the following
-An ice maker that didn’t work for which we were told there were ice trays left in the freezer however we could not open the freezer drawer
-A broken toaster with wires sticking out on the stove
-Dead roaches/water bugs throughout the homes
-Leaking bathroom sink faucets
-Filthy, old linens on some of the beds (sheets were no longer white, appeared dirty with visible stains, some beds made with sheets inside out)
-Extremely old, worn pillows
-Completely rusted beach wagon
-TV’s not working as intended and remotes (not in proper location) yes we were at the beach but it was also a kick off to college football.
Thankfully we brought Lysol and cleaning products with us because the “high touch area cleaning” and thoroughly cleaning in general could not have taken place. We questioned if the linens on the beds had even been washed and changed prior to our arrival. We placed several calls upon our discovery of these myriad of issues to which the answering service stated we would receive a call back that evening and someone would be out to address the issues that night. We didn’t hear from anyone that night or the next morning so we had to take time out of our vacation to drive to the property management office to make our formal complaints. During the interim and due to the lack of response from the property management company, we were forced to proceed with purchasing bags of ice, sheets, pillows and pillow case, and blankets because we didn’t feel comfortable using most of what was provided. The repair man came out on Saturday and tried his best to fix some of the issues but several were beyond the scope of what he could do at the time. Needless to say, we had the worst vacation stay in the 30A area ever. We vacation frequently in Seacrest, Destin, and St. Simon Island and rent several houses some of them repeatedly and have NEVER ENCOUNTERED the issues we faced with these two properties. I’m frankly disgusted and appalled that we have yet to hear back from VRBO or the property management company despite our complaints and subsequent email following our stay outlining this horrible experience.
