Located in the historic Lighthouse Park neighborhood, this charming 1940s coastal cottage is easy strolling distance to the Lighthouse, Alligator Farm, mini-golf, cafes & more! It is only a 0.8-mi walk to the Bridge of Lions, where you can walk over the Bay to downtown St. Augustine. You couldn't ask for a better location! It's on Anastasia Island so you're a short walk/bike/car ride from the beach & Ampitheater.
It's cozy, pet & kid-friendly with a big backyard and toys. Kayaks & bikes available!

Our family has lovingly restored this charming old beach cottage and brightened it up with a classic coastal style. She's been named "The Inlet Cottage." Soothing whites and blues and plenty of seashells and coral will bring you to the peaceful seaside retreat you've been craving. Ample mature palm trees can be spotted all over the property and outside of nearly every window.
The cottage is cozy at 840 sq feet & will bring your family & friends together during your vacation. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed that is extremely comfortable. The second bedroom has two antique twin beds with comfy mattresses and an adorable turquoise sea theme. The sofa in the living room pulls out into a full-sized bed, in case you have a couple extra children or friends.
PLEASE NOTE that this cottage **most comfortably suits 4 people**, but the sofa bed is helpful if you have 6 people to accommodate. (Extra linens to make up the sofa bed are located under the twin beds and in the closets).
Smart TVs are located in each bedroom and in the living room.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook big family dinners while on vacation. There is more than enough! There is cold water in the fridge door & an ice maker...crucial in this subtropical climate!
There is a dishwasher located in the island/peninsula and new toaster, microwave and coffee machine. Most of the appliances have a vintage style to add to the kitchen's cottage-y charm.
The corner cabinet has been converted into a cute coffee station that will start your adventurous days. There are extra mugs, coffee & tea in the cabinets above and below. There is coffee, filters, sugar, creamer & tea bags in the coffee station.
The dining table seats 4 people when round, but there is a leaf extension that will allow 6 people to dine. There are extra chairs located in the garage if needed. You can also dine under the large umbrella at the outdoor dining table, which seats 6 people as well.
Under the TV cabinet are board games, a toy box, and a booster & high chair for the little ones.
French Doors open up onto a lovely deck, where you can enjoy the salty breeze right off the inlet which is just across the street.
There's a little screened-in porch with two comfy chairs & a little table, with room to add a few more chairs if needed. Some seasons require a screened-in space in the South!
The cottage is just one house from the water (Salt Run inlet, which comes off of the Bay just before the ocean, which is where boats launch at the Lighthouse), so you get a fantastic breeze here! Some days you can smell that salty brackish bay water smell and it will make your heart skip a beat as you watch the seagulls, pelicans, herons, spoonbills and egrets gliding overhead.
If you walk to the end of our road & cross into the new subdivision, there is a pier there with a neat view of the inlet. It's nice for a sunset stroll. You can also head into the Lighthouse Park neighborhood for more inlet views between the kayak launch and the Lighthouse marina.
The cottage is located on a short dead-end street so there is very little traffic. Within walking distance is The Conch House, one of St. Augustine's best restaurants, in our opinion! They have a fun "Reggae Sunday" event, where reggae bands play on a floating dock and locals all climb on to dance to the beat. There is a gate in our backyard that takes you to that road, so it's a very short stroll to The Conch House! There is also a fun little bar (often with live music) on the pier here. Be sure to request a "crow's nest" table, if you go to the restaurant!
Just two doors down in the other direction at the beginning of our street is a Cheba Hut sandwich shop. Then you go just across the street from there and you'll be at an epic mini-golf experience with a huge pirate ship. If you go left at the end of our street, you'll wander into Lighthouse Park which is a stunning stroll full of oak trees arching over the street and historic homes full of character, history and interesting architecture. You'll find the Lighthouse here! There is also a public tennis court, skate park, kids park, boat ramp, canoe launch and more! If you were to just keep walking left by the mini-golf, you'll see that you are right next to the Alligator Farm. Now, if you were to turn right at the end of our street, you'll have less than a mile walk to the historic Bridge of Lions. Along this walk there are countless pubs, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and more to check out. The Bridge of Lions is so cool to walk across. You can linger and look at all of the boats and get a great panoramic view of downtown as you stroll this short bridge over the Bay. Once you're on the other end, have a cocktail a the Tini Martini Bar, dinner at Harry's and do a lap around St. George and Avilles streets. You seriously could not find a home with a better location to all that St. Augustine has to offer!
There are two kayaks in the cottage's garage which are available to guests to use (at your own risk, of course). There are paddles and life jackets (adult, kids, & a small dog life jacket). If you have a vehicle like a truck or SUV and a partner that can help you lift, you can get it on top of your vehicle and then make the very short drive around the corner to the canoe/kayak launch (Location details in our Guidebook). We also have 5 bicycles available for guests in there, too. They are beach cruisers and they're not "Insta-worthy" persay, as the salty air here will immediately give any bike handlebars rustic character. But they work great. We have a couple of helmets and a bike lock and air pump available. (Use at your own risk, of course. Please rinse the salty sand off if you bike on the beach--my favorite way to watch a sunset!).
There is a washer and dryer available to guests located in the garage as well. (Note: We supply a small amount of laundry detergent that can help with a single load of laundry and also the "check-out towel load", but for longer stays, you'll need to supply your own detergent).
There is a privacy fence for the backyard that is very secure, as we made it with pets & children in mind.
There is a patio around a fire-pit with Adirondack chairs which is really fun for S'mores nights! There are metal sticks in the garage for marshmallows. (Note: We do not supply firewood for the fire-pit, but we have recommendations on where to purchase firewood, or you can bring a bundle in your trunk if you are driving.) Landscaped around that is a newly planted garden. Sub-tropical and native plants surround the fire-pit patio. There are also party-lights gracefully strung around the Adirondack chairs encircling the fire-pit area.
While the cottage is primarily for vacation rental these days, the home is filled with personal antiques that we have collected over the years and we think it gives it so much more character than the typical IKEA-filled rentals. We hope you adore it as much as we do.
So come on down, bring your kiddos & pets, and enjoy a wonderful vacation in one of the most gorgeous places in the U.S. I'll have a Guidebook ready for you in the kitchen with all of our personal recommendations so you have a local's itinerary ready for you to make the most of your trip!

PETS
We do have a pet fee & few expected rules regarding fur babies. The cottage is dog-friendly (no cats). Message me if you are bringing a dog & we can chat. We prefer smaller dogs, but are open to discussion. We ask that pet owners make sure their dog is up-to-date on all flea & tick medicines. Please pick up droppings before checkout (a pooper scooper is in the garage). We keep "retired" sheets in the living room ottoman, so you can cover the couch and bed quilts if your dog is muddy or shedding. We ask that you "Know Your Dog," meaning, you know best whether your dog should be crated when you are not at the cottage or not. We have an older large dog crate in the garage if you need one.

Guest interaction:
We will have a keyless lock (keypad) installed at the Inlet Cottage. I will send you your customized keycode before your arrival via message and you can simply punch that in and gain access and have the ability to lock it that way, too.

Guests have access to everything on the property! The entire house, yard & garage is yours to use throughout your trip. Enjoy
