Communication about the check-in/key procedure was not provided until I private messaged the Volt Apartments the day before we were due to arrive. The key collection procedure is a a long drawn out mess around. While I understand that there is no reception desk we could see a property manager in an office and felt that the system could be better fine tuned to avoid the extra stop to collect a key from a locker in a downtown building.
The apartment itself was tiny, one of the bedrooms the furniture didn't fit the room. There was a vacuum cleaner and other housekeeping paraphernalia stored in the bedrooms. Finally the cleanliness of the apartment was well below par. The shower was filthy with grime and scum around the door frame and floor. There was evidence of previous guests stays such as hair, dirt and rubbish. I don't expect to pull the covers back off my bed to find hairs in it. The walls are so thin you can hear everything happening next door. Volt Apartments is a residential apartment block (not just for travellers). Our apartment had a lingering strong aroma of many curry dinners previously cooked by the people who resided in the apartment next door. The smell was overwhelming when we went to unlock our front door as the neighbours door was right next to ours. Overall I wouldn't stay here again. It is way too overpriced for what it is and the general level of uncleanliness of the apartment.
