Staff were great, the property has a bit of deferred maintenance on the walls etc. Unfortunately, there was a group of unsupervised children running up and down the hallway at 11pm.
Rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. The only challenge was the level of customer service. Bar & restaurant staff lacked initiative when serving.
The size of the room and bathroom was really good. Great views and comfortable beds, and was nice & quiet too. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Parking was convenient, easy to get and free.
Good for one night. But very noisy in and out. The door are heavy and clang loudly and unfortunately our room was just above the skip bins. Air con rubbish. But convenient and restaurant great. Room service mucked up and phone didn’t work.
Had trouble with the 'key' making the electric work in the room, and I walked all the way down to the front desk to ask about it and came back feeling like they insulted me. Then we couldn't find the hair dryer and had to go all the way back down to the front desk and come to find out there's a faux hidden door in the room. Why didn't they tell us this at check in???? Toilet didn't flush well. Plug outlets were next to the floor. No one wants to get on their hands and knees in some hotel to find the outlets!!! This is the case in both rooms (bedroom and bathroom).
I was charged twice for my room booking and have yet to be refunded any money despite providing evidence of the original payment via expedia. To top it off the toilet leaked in our bathroom. So far I have not found my stay at Waipuna to have been a pleasant one.
Always are made comfortable by staff when we come stay here. Hotel is kept to a high class cleanliness and so quiet. Parking is ample and not so tight spaces.
