This motel was horrible, had to request a refund. The room smelled horrible, the sheets had cigarette burns, and didn’t smell clean and had hair. The air conditioner didn’t work. And to top it off the bed felt like cardboard.

It's an older motel that's been upgraded so it's modern. The trains aren't too bad, but you can still hear them, even though the ad i saw said the rooms were soundproofed. Luckily the trains go by fast and seemed to be short.

I stay here every time I come to Carlsbad for work. You can count on a simple yet clean and comfortable room with easy access to the beach about a five minute walk and amazing restaurants about a 10 minute walk. This property is unique because as a family owned and operated motel they take pride in their property and offer an outstanding overnight experience at an affordable price.

I visit Carlsbad maybe once a year, on a budget, and normally choose other hotels other than this one. But this time I decided to give them a shot and boy was I wrong. The hotel looks to be freshly renovated, but it’s not. The color palette they’ve chosen is a nicely orchestrated ruse. Once in the room, you realize that the furnishings and the overall attention to detail has gone out the window. Poorly patched holes in the walls. Stained floor tile. Poorly made beds. And just before check out, you have the staff knocking on your door asking for the key and the remote control to the TV. Like as if to help you rush out as quickly as possible. I found this incredibly rude. Especially when you have to yell through the door to tell them, you will bring the key and the remote control to the office before leaving. Is this hotel affordable? Yes. But word to the wise, don’t expect a three, four or even five star level of service

Parking here is super secure and there is always plenty of it. You don't really have to worry about a spot even if you arrive late. It's super quiet and peaceful. This place has some of the best rates you can find in a highly desirable area of north San Diego.
