Not your normal blah, typical hotel room. Beautiful hotel everywhere although dated. The food is going downhill. The hotel champagne was bad. The music in the presidential car needs to be elevated.

A neat experience, given the vastness, beauty and historical grace of a property in Southern California like that. However, the room had some questionable areas about it and it is not the most restful night sleeps since the vibe and layout feel more like a bed and breakfast than a Resort Hotel. Still, a very cool property to check out.

UNDER ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD A HOTEL STAFF BE ALLOWED IN YOUR ROOM WHITOUT YOUR PERMISSION UNLESS UOU REQUEST THEM OR CHECKED OUT! Me and my family got the scare of our lives! When someone came knocking at our door at around 8pm. I did not answer because who would be knocking at my door at that time, I was undressed and I had children in there with me. So an even bigger reason to not open the door. THEN THE STAFF TRIED OPENING OUR DOOR THANKFULLY THE TOP LOCK WAS SECURED! But the blinds on the door fell off from the attempt to open the door and he could easily see inside our room since it was dark outside! I felt so scared and angry! I called the front desk and they said it’s procedure! They call it the turndown service? They are given instructions to knock 3 times and if no one answers they come in! No I can’t stay at a hotel that does that for my safety and my kids I can’t trust anyone. I respect it’s their hotel policy but I wish I would have been alerted. Yes it’s beautiful inside and out. We loved it! But the rooms need major renovations and our room smelled alittle musty. Not sure what was happening at 3am outside the hotel but it was so loud we could hear people screaming and revving their engines. My kids enjoyed the food at the Mexican restaurant and the pool. Truly enjoyed exploring the hotel. Feels like you’re in a different world.

The Mission Inn exceeded our expectations. The historical and Spanish architecture literally took us back in time. The service was impeccable from everyone no matter of their role! The environment reminded me of southern hospitality of Louisiana!

Wonderful property with easy access to some fun gems. Food on property is wretched and some of the staff clearly have no hospitality training. Valet is extremely convenient and the day spent in the hotel was lovely.

The hotel room and carpet were a little messy, but the historic and cute European hotel buildings and cathedrals were very impressive and must-see. The fun of touring every nook and cranny of the hotel with my daughter was the ultimate gift.

This was my first time staying at the property. I absolutely LOVED every detail. I enjoyed reading through the history in various sites around the hotel (which I suggest the hotel staff is educated about, because when I asked about the history, they said there was no information available). I listened to the sound of running water just outside our room, with the ability to open the doors and see the luscious greenery around the pool which gave me the best reading spot with my morning coffee. I slept amazing. Beds and bedding were quite comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful trip. I'm ruined for the new modern hotels now, and I'm blaming the Mission Inn. :)

We had not visited the Mission Inn in over a decade and adjusted our expectations given some negative recent reviews we had read. We were pleasantly surprised that this one of a kind historical property is still a gem! We had an early check-in with option to upgrade. Valet parking is well worth it and easy. Very patient front desk staff accommodated our request for room that considered some of our mobility challenges…it was a beautiful junior suite. We each treated friends/family members at different restaurants at hotel and food and wait staff were professional and friendly. We walked the mall and beautiful hotel grounds. Later we ordered room service and it was delicious. Room was quiet, bed was comfortable. We will definitely stay again.
