We stayed on a Sunday night. Only one limited menu dining option at night. Bar not open till 5:30. The surrounding area dining options weren't great either unless you walked quite some way. There seemed to be limited staff. Our included breakfast was good (but not full breakfast). Could not order drinks or food at the pool. It was extremely hot (30) and pool faces west. It looked like there was an awning over the (limited) seats, but it was not open so it was too hot to sit up there. As we went to relax. sit by a pool, have a cocktail and stay in for dinner to avoid stress this was a very disappointing and not 5 star experience.

Have stayed at this great hotel a few times when the rooms are discounted. Had a strange experience this time where they had accidentally checked someone else in under my name. It was all odd, however they made up for it with a room upgrade and were very apologetic. Beautiful rooms with comfy beds, great soundproofing andodern bathrooms

Check in was frustrating as the third party website had not let the hotel know we had booked for 2 adults and a child. We were asked to pay in an extra fee for our child which we hadn’t expected. We were given a bigger room in order to fit in the roll away bed. Bar lady was rude and when asked about one of the products, she just made the information up which was not true. When I asked again, she spoke to me as if I was a complete idiot. Room was lovely and clean and the reception staff were professional and helpful. Great to walk to restaurants and fabulous Italian restaurant next door to the hotel. Parking on weekends is $16 a day at car park close to the hotel.

Ovolo is a great choice for Fortitude Valley
The Ovolo was a great place to stay. The staff were so nice and helpful. And breakfast was also very good! Lots of restaurants just outside the hotel and James Street is a short walk away.
