Love this hotel. Room with harbour view is a must!!!! Excellent location. Always very comfy beds and pillows. Clean and big rooms. We kove the balcony and fresh air. Plenty to watch in thw busy harbour.

The restaurant needs help, staffing and understanding orders is crucial to good customer service. Most all breakfast food was cold or not completely cooked. We also tried an evening with drinks and appetizers, but the wait, while others were being served was another example of poor restaurant service.

This Hilton is outrageous expensive for a patio water view. 548$ USD per nite. Not ever paying that much I thought I would see what I would get. Please know if you book water view w patio they will wait until after you paid and days before your trip to inform you that the view will be blocked X day and X hours. When I say blocked the ship is right outside the patio. Not for anyone with claustrophobia. Next, Some NZ law does not allow use of a community microwave and I was told there was NONE. Long story but I got one. Couldn't believe it. I have stayed at 2* and they are in the room! You Pay $25USD for breakfast. Not included w 548$ per night is hard to swallow. It's a nothing special breakfast that all hotels have except when I went to Fiji! Lastly, don't expect to be greeted or your luggage to get taken to your room.Looks like mostly security people.When I was leaving I was asked if I needed help. You don't ask in a 5* you just do it. I went to Fiji after this to a large resort and the service was like night and day! Hence, where my suggestions come from

Not terrible, but too expensive for what it is. Outdated TVs with no Netflix or smart TV options. Building is old and noisy. We could hear people in the halls, our neighbors, and ferry horns pretty early in the morning. Valet parking is only option, where they comically park your car right outside the front door lol. Great staff though. Save the money and stay elsewhere

A little expensive but nowhere was cheap the night we visited due to events on in town. The hotel is in a great spot, the staff are excellent and the facilities live up to expectations. Will definitely stay again.
