Well priced for staying just the one night as we are spending most of our time outdoors. Clean and comfortable rooms. Checkin and parking were quite easy. Possible because ski seasonnhasnt quite begun.

We have been coming to Basecamp South Tahoe for about a decade, so have seen it through the years. While the vibe of the place is still nice, and the beer garden is a great feature, it is very disappointing to see the property falling behind on maintenance. As well, the staff is not well trained or very friendly (front desk), and typical amenities like a continental breakfast and daily turnover service used to be provided but have been cut. Even the bare essentials like complimentary coffee in the morning are gone, and you now have to buy coffee for nearly $5 a cup. All of this is a real bummer, and diminishes the experience at Basecamp. Because of this we will be looking elsewhere for our future visits to South Lake Tahoe.

My husband & I stayed here for 5 nights and used it as our base to explore the lake, Virginia City, Truckee & even a day trip to Yosemite. The balcony in our room was my favorite as well as the comfortable bed. We loved the beer garden & ate breakfast several days onsite. It is in walking distance to the casinos & Heavenly Village. Overall I would highly recommended Basecamp!

Close to the main tourist attractions and was easy to locate, rooms were clean and cozy as well as super friendly staff. Will most definitely recommend and come back next Tahoe Visit.

Loved the atmosphere, the woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly. The room was clean, comfortable. The location was great. My only complaint is some areas of the grounds could be cleaned up a bit. Where we parked. There was just a lot of misc equipment, the supplies to restock rooms just left out in the open. I would still come back, but that was a little off putting

Great Location!
Great location! My husband and I stayed for five days for a vacation away from the kids. Our hotel was right next to all the hustle and bustle. Service was great and friendly, they kept it simple and communicated via text which was convenient since we were out pretty much early every day and stayed out all day exploring so asking for more towels was done via text. The room was clean and the decor was cute and rustic, I enjoyed the art work hung in our room. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve had at a hotel believe it or not. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great stay and great experience.

The room must have been a pet room. There was dry pet food on the carpet. Dirty carpet and the shower was awful. Could not even make coffee in the room. No microwaves. Only reason I gave two stars was the bed was comfortable and close to the casinos.
