We found after we got there that there wasn’t really a need to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station when you can just take the Piccadilly line to the Covent Grden tube stop and walk about four blocks to the hotel.

The best part was the staff. Very cheerful, efficient, and full of good advice on how to get places, where to eat. They provide umbrellas you can borrow in the lobby and a happy hour from 6-7 every night. Several days we got a late start and had no trouble getting the room cleaned in the middle of the afternoon (you definitely don’t get a cheerful response to such a request at all hotels.)
Places we got to on foot for food were The Lemon Tree (Thai) and Punjab (Indian). Punjab in par
