Charming with quirks
We recently stayed in this charming newly renovated apartment that felt like a cozy tree house getaway! Nestled in a historic home, it was full of character around every corner. We especially loved the big windows with beautiful views of the trees, letting us soak in the scenery and enjoy a refreshing breeze. The cozy kitchen, though small, kept the cook part of the conversation, making family meals enjoyable. We ate in every night and found the bed comfortable with soft sheets that made winding down easy. The beautiful shower was also a fantastic plus.
There were a few quirks to note. The stove had a cooktop with only one working burner (there are only two to begin with), though I’m sure this will be addressed before the next guest. There’s no dishwasher, so we found ourselves hand-washing dishes after each meal, which wasn’t a big issue for us. Additionally, the apartment has quite a few stairs, so packing light is definitely helpful.
The main drawback, and likely the reason we might not stay here again, was the noise from the main house. While you have your own private space, sounds from above started around 7:30 each morning, with footsteps and other activity that were noticeable. We’d hoped to sleep in on our getaway, so the early morning noise was a bit disruptive for us. Overall, though, the charm and beautiful setting made it a lovely place to stay. It could be a great fit for early risers or anyone who appreciates a unique, character-filled space!
