Clean Room, I wish they still had the nice big coffee and hot chocolate machine in the front office- they replaced it with a smaller version. We were so impressed with Abraham who checked us in, he was friendly & provided us with some great options for meals- restaurant recommendations

The location and view from our room was fantastic! And fairly reasonable too! The room was an adequate size as was the bathroom, with the sink outside the area where the toilet and shower are. There were bottles of lotion and hand soap built in by the sink, as were the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The fixtures were a bit older but were fine. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get good enough sleep because the bed was very uncomfortable. Every movement caused loud squeaks from the springs in the mattress. Also, I have some recurring back pain and the mattress triggered it. Thankfully, we only stayed two nights. Other than the mattress, the room was quiet and clean and overall enjoyable. Virtual check-in was easy and we were texted the room code so we could go straight in. Quick checkout as well.

The property is run down with ripped carpeting in the halls and cracked tiles in elevator. The bed was seriously uncomfortable. No directions for phone use or binder with local attractions. Microwave was clean but noisy and took awhile to heat up a container of broth. No coffee cups in room and tea wasn't offered as an option. I paid almost $400 Valentine's weekend for one night. The fireplace was also noisy. While not the hotels fault, if you stay here, traffic can be noisy (at least on the side I was on). I understand it was Valentine's weekend and appreciate it is close to Cannery Row, but honestly felt this place was really not up to the price they were charging.

Very nice room with high ceilings. The outdoor balcony was a nice added touch to the room. The bed was comfortable and there was no noise coming in from either outside or surrounding rooms. We had a very nice stay and might make it an annual stop in the future. It is walkable distance to so many attractions and restaurants in Monterey.
