My husband & I decided a spontaneous trip to Monterey. We chose Hotel Pacific cause the photos were so cute & they are also pet friendly! My husband called to double check that we can bring our dog & I called again 5 mins later to clarify if there’s a particular room we should book since we’re bringing a dog. The lady on the phone said we can book either a Jr Suite or a Luxury Jr Suite with the only difference being that the Luxury is courtyard facing, hence quieter. So when I booked, I chose the Luxury since I didn’t want to be street-facing. I got a call on our way there to confirm our booking since we were arriving quite late in the evening (like 10:30PM). When we got there, I had my husband check-in so I could stay back in the car with our dog. When we got to our room he told me that they had to move us from a 2nd floor room to a 1st floor room since we had a dog. That was likely my mistake for not telling the lady who called to confirm our room that we were bringing our dog, but it had honestly slipped my mind. I have no issues with being on the 1st floor, but we were now in street-facing room when I booked the Luxury which did have an up charge. Had I known from the start I would’ve just booked the standard Jr Suite & saved some money. Since we ended up in a street-facing room, it was a bit of a noisy sleep for us. Otherwise, our stay was fine. Room was clean, but had some carpeting starting to separate. Breakfast was the standard stuff. Super walkable to downtown.

The room we were placed in was incredibly noisy. You could hear people talking in the room below and next door. It was so loud everytime someone walked by the room throughout the night and in to the early morning as well.

The waterfall outside the room in the courtyard is extremely loud, noticed the door to the room had a gap which allowed sound to come in freely.

We normally stay right on the ocean. This hotel is the best of both worlds! So much better than a normal hotel room! The sitting area was so relaxing! We were reading our books and relaxing and we heard Taps being played at the naval academy! What a lovely and unexpected surprise! And in the morning we heard the Revelry. This is two blocks from the old wharf, and one block from excellent dining options downtown. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely stay there again!

So Nice!
Such a nice hotel and the service was excellent. We brought our pups and had a room with a patio so we could let the breeze in and they could come in and out. Great underground parking and wonderful, central location to downtown, Cannery Row and Fisherman’s Wharf. Thank you!!

Room renovations are good. But services have been greatly reduced. The price however is a good value for what you are getting. Nice large and comfy rooms. They are very dog friendly

Booked a room with double beds, when we checked in, they claimed only single bedrooms availability. Very inconvenient as I was traveling with a friend and didn't want to share a bed. In addition, did they start the next morning at 9:30am with heavy constructions (sawing, drilling), so much to peace and quiet. I noticed also during breakfast that people compliant about the coffee, as it took forever to have the container refilled. As I don't drink coffee no problem for me, but you could see the frustration in the eyes of the caffeine addicts. lol Nice Hotel but given the experience I would be looking for alternatives next time. Nicely located, nevertheless.
