I stayed with my fiancé and three other couples at Hanging Rock estate. The house was a great place to get away for the long weekend - we took advantage of the gorgeous weather in the heated pool and hot tub and pool. The estate is up a hill, cliff-side and you an amazing view of the desert/valley. Except for the side of the property facing the cliff, the property secured and has an electronic gate, so we felt safe. Additionally, the neighbors are friendly and will keep an out for anything out of the ordinary.
Additionally, there outside patio is perfect for lounging all day - there is a propane-powered fire pitch with a sectional, a dining table, and captains chair overlooking the valley perfect for an afternoon nap in the sun. Additionally there are pool lounge chairs perfect for tanning while catching up on a light novel.
Inside, there is a massive sectional couch with views of the valley as well as the TV. Under the TV, there is a cupboard for if board games too, which we played every night.
You feel like a celebrity in the master bedroom, spacious with views of the pool as well as a massive closet and open-air shower, great for rinsing off (outside shower too and laundry).
We play a round at PGA West La Quinta Saturday and then spent Sunday hitting the spa for massages. It was a 25 min commute for context but beautiful drive through Palm Springs.
Our group had a fantastic time and the trip was too short. 5 for 5 stars across the board.
For those considering renting with children, be mindful of the plants, which look smooth and nice, but can cause a stinger. They are out of the way, but curiousity can cause a bite.
Lastly, John is very professional and provided early and prompt guidelines, instructions as well as recommendations on things to do in Palm Springs. He is a fantastic host with strong communication skills.
Jon, thank you so much for opening your doors to us! A trip our group will all look back on and say “wish we were hanging under the 20-foot waterfall”.
