Our stay was overall good but we did run into a couple issues. Our first room did not have working a/c and after maintenance came to check the unit he suggested we go down and request to be moved. The maintenance worker was super kind and helpful as well as the hotel staff at the front desk. We were moved to a second room but upon checking in we discovered the room was definitely not cleaned prior, we took photos of the sheets and bedding to show the front desk and they’re were very apologetic and moved us to a third room. Our final room was great. Quiet and clean. We are overall really happy to have stayed given the staff was understanding and did everything in their power to correct the mishaps. We are also aware of things like this happening as we are all human so it wasn’t a big deal to us. We were just happy to get to bed after the ordeal and a lose at the Sharks game. We would likely stay again but we’d definitely do a thorough check of our room before unpacking. Also the valet was super nice and suggested a few spots to check out murals in the area. Honestly every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful, kind and professional. Regardless of the mishaps the staff made it worth the stay overall!

Oldest hotel. Also new and updated at the same time. Great location. 5 minute walk to SAP Arena. Few minutes away from great food spots also. Prime location to what you need to have an amazing stay. Staying here next time I visit San Jose as well. Great job. Thank you!!

Enjoyed our stay for sure. Comfortable and clean room. Mattress very comfy. Nice in room amenities. Large closet. Large shower with great pressure and water temp. Cool lobby. Only bummer was the bar/lounge was closed. Quick walk to San Pedro Square, other restaurants, bars and the SAP.

Great Stay
Our stay was great and was reasonably priced. The front desk employees were very welcoming and worked hard to ensure guest were taken care of in a timely manner. The rooms were bigger than I thought they would be. They were also maintained very well also.

Everything was fine when we got our room…went up and a man was in the room sleeping at 3:45pm. Scared my daughter and I to death. I promptly went back downstairs to get a new room and was met with an eye roll and a “hold on”. No apology, no upgrade, just an irritation, stating “I guess we can put you in Room….” This was after a phone call to the manager. We come down to SJ often and stayed here before… this will be the last time!

Rooms were nicely appointed and if you like firm bed mattresses, this is perfect for you. It was like sleeping on a slab of granite. The window coverings were broken so you couldn’t operate them and when the heater went on it caused them to click repeatedly against the wall. The phone wasn’t connected, so we couldn’t call for assistance and it was too late to go downstairs again. These are one off issues and all that said, I would likely try again, the location was great.

We have been going to Hotel De Anza for years. Recently there’s been severe drop in the charm it used to have. The restaurant, La Pastaia was one of our favorites, but that’s now gone and not replaced. The Hedley Club appears to have gone away as well. Valet is hit or miss if it’s available. Basically we are paying the same rates with less amenities! If you like a firm mattress, this is your hotel!

A great place to stay near SAP Stadium
The hotel has just opened under new ownership. The historic charm is retained. Our room was nice, very quiet and well-appointed. The beds were comfortable. Bathroom spacious. Will stay here again.
