The hotel itself is nice. Clean, smells lovely, a typical Curio collection hotel. Their downfall is the lazy staff. We had a very lackluster check-in experience, wasn’t told about the resort fee or hotel meal credits. Once in our room, we requested more clothing hangers and some other household items but never received them. I also text them at the 619 number, then text them though the app, and tried to call (was out on hold indefinitely so I hung up after waiting so long. No answer, no apologies from staff. Tried ordering room service—the phone just rang and rang with no answer. We stayed for 4 days. Everyday, as we left our room, the hallways were littered with carts and maids standing around, laughing & chatting. They

It was an amazing stay. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was in a great area walkable to Little Italy and Seaport Village. We even walked to Gaslamp which was about 25 min walk. Great hotel! Would stay again.

I booked the Carte following a recommendation and rave reviews from a fellow member of a FB travel group. It was the perfect choice! The hotel staff were very welcoming and accommodating, especially Nat. I appreciate her so much and helping to make my stay in San Diego seamless and easy. While early check in was not available, they held my bags until check-in time and again after i checked out, while i grabbed one last bite in Little Italy and walked around a bit at the pier. The room was fantastic! Very modern and very clean. The Carte is a very peaceful hotel, in a great location, and with a lot of amenities. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the city and will recommend it to others.

The hotel was well situated for visiting many sites. Bed was comfortable and room always kept clean. However, the downside was in the booking. They have a policy of a destination fee, which must be paid upon arrival. It allows you a $30 per day credit in their two restaurants, which we used for breakfast each morning. Breakfast was usually US$ 43-47 for two each day. Didn’t like the idea of having to drink or eat in the hotel, which I found to be very expensive.

Less than Ideal.
When I arrived to the hotel my room didn't have any garbage bags in any of the receptacles. The shower wasn't functional and even after being serviced wasn't fixed. Firstly started off ice cold then when fixed was blistering hot. The attitude from the workers were friendly even after all of the inconvenience's I had.
