I had an emergency and tried to cancel my reservation a day after it was purchased and both Expedia nor the Hilton property had the concern, decency or care to accommodate. It is sad that Hilton incurred zero costs but felt zero regard to me and my family's well being. I needed the money to go see my child but I guess Hilton needed the money more than me. The property refused to contact me and Expedia did nothing. Thannks alot to Hilton and Expedia

Black tar in sink
We had an incident during our stay. On our first night, after coming back from our tour of the city, we saw black oil tar in the sink and it sprayed in some parts of the floor. It was like black tar was gushing at a moment in time from the sink and half of the sink had black tar filled up. We called the front desk to handle the situation and was advised to wait for someone to come clean up the mess in the bathroom. It is around 6 pm and sadly they just asked us to wait for them to fix it. I went to front desk and show them pictures of the situation and they relocated us to another room with our kids. We had to repack everything and unpack into our new room. Glad nothing happened in this room for the duration of the time; stay only two nights. It feels like this is not the first time this has happened. The inconvenience of it all is the staff did not take immediate action until it was personally brought to them and there were no concerns about us or anything about our belongings. Unfortunately this incident will remain imprinted in my mind if we decide to stay here again. This was normally our first choice in San Diego as we stayed here a few times before with our family and friends. After this incident I will hesitate to consider this hotel for our next visit in San Diego. I really hope that they fix the problem so this does not affect anyone else experience at this hotel.
Great location to use the trains instead of ride shares. Very nice and spacious rooms. Lobby was beautiful. We were in town for a concert and we were able to walk back, total plus.
Have stayed here past 15 years. Last 5 years property has declined much inside n out. Exterior mulching n pruning not done . Homeless sleep n their debris not cleaned up. Other homeless sleep in cars there. Inside not clean carpeting . Pet Hotel now. Maid only changed one bed of two .Desk people could be more social. Dog smell thru out . Disappointed Stay .
Room service knocked on the door at 8 a.m. and entered without permission. Body wash and shampoo weren’t replaced for two days. The soundproofing is terrible, making it impossible to get proper rest.
The location is in old town SD, next to Department of Transportstion. Clean room and nice bathroom, hot water works good. No hot water thermos provided in the lobby. Majority of people who have family like to drink hot tea or ramen noodle for emergency snacks. I have to go to the gym to get my hot water. Parking is good, there is a fee. Laundry facility and price $2.50 for washing or drying is good HOWEVER the payment require you to bring coins! Very old fashion. Please upgrade to card payment to prevent vandalism and inconveniently having to have cash and ask the front concierge for $0.25c coins.
