Nice overall. Decent value in a good area.
Neat historic building right by Gaslamp. I had a corner room with a queen bed which was nice having windows on two sides. Seemed clean, but had a musty smell that can stick in long used carpet & upholstery of older rooms. Wasn’t bad with the air circulating, but the fan from the AC unit was quite loud. Not enough to switch rooms for my short stay, but worth a heads up. Walkable to local restaurants and bars & the convention center. Valet staff was great, always quick to retrieve my car, polite, and helpful when I had an armload of extra stuff. The restaurant wasn’t open during my stay, and I didn’t check out the yoga/ fitness area.

Great location, nostalgic vibe, close to all the action in the GasLamp Area. Allowed us early checkin before the ball game. We didn’t stay long as we had to leave for the Airport at 6:00am

Great on the outside
Room and bed were clean, and building looked cool! Cons: Shower drains super slow, water would build up in the shower. AC had a small clanking noise that wouldn’t stop. Just could use a maintenance/ tune up of the place.

The accommodations were visually appealing, with pristine windows and renovations, and a contemporary and refreshing décor. Despite the building's age, it is well-maintained and conveniently located on the outskirts of the Gaslamp District, just a short walk away. However, there are some challenges associated with being in downtown San Diego, including a noticeable homeless population and a lack of accessible public restrooms for their use. During our ventures to restaurants in the Gaslamp District, we encountered some unpleasant situations on the sidewalks.

Mostly loved it, stayed one night as I was in town for a music show. The room was ok, had a good view but lower floor. I later found out from the valet that they had nicer, remodeled rooms on the upper floors and not sure why I wasn’t informed about that and given an opportunity to stay in a nicer room. I just had no idea. It was a Tuesday night so not even full capacity so that’s kind of a bummer. There was some gross funk on the wall behind the door where the bathroom wall was; I wiped it off but it was a pretty obvious miss by the cleaning crew so made me wonder what else they are missing. The bed sheets were on the rough side. Not to the point of discomfort but I did notice and found it kind of odd. If I had been staying for more than a night I might have said something. I’m sure the sheets in the remodeled rooms are much nicer but again, was not offered one.

Hotel is conveniently located and walking distance to many places we wanted to visit. Parking fees are outrageous , $40 USD a night on top of the hotel fees. Rooms are clean but very small. Luckily we only stayed for two nights with our teenaged daughter.
