This is a great location—walk to beach, funk zone and lower state. Have to wonder if we had one on the noisier rooms, being in the front. We heard lots of traffic and loud people. At 6:55 am there were long blasts from the train. The room temperature was 53 when we walked in and the TV did not work — I guess because of dead batteries in the remote. The only way to make the room dark was to take out the bulb of the light next to the bed because when it was turned off another light came on.

We loved staying at the Riviera. It was a prime location for all of the fun activities and great food in Santa Barbara. Service was friendly and prompt for any needs we had and the hotel smelled amazing. Iwould definitely recommend a stay here for anyone wanting to experience the best of Santa Barbara.

The hotel is nice and very well located. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did have an issue with the AC leaking water into the bedroom, and were given towels as a solution (were offered to change rooms if the problem persisted, but we turned off the AC to stop the leak). The room itself was nicely done and well kept. However, it was really noise until about 11pm. There’s a rumbling in the room and the corridor that probably comes from the restaurant machinery. It’s really noticeable and bothersome.

The hotel was new, nice, and conveniently located near the beach and Funk Zone. The rooms are very small and the showers have no walls. There is no cleaning, you need to ask. However, it is the nosiest hotel on the planet. It’s right next to the train station, street noise is loud. This property really needs noise canceling windows. We could barely sleep. At an almost comical end to our stay, the cleaning crew decided to clean our windows from the outside with a water hose at 5:45am. Stay here if you are a deep sleeper.

Everything in the hotel shuts down at 10pm. It’s nice that it is quiet, but it would be nice to be able to sit on the patio and relax at night. The rooms are maybe big enough for two people to shuffle around, but really they are for one person. Also, when you call the front desk, they are unresponsive. It’s better to just walk down to the desk. Otherwise, the area is really nice and the hotel is fine.

Room was TOO SMALL, good location
Our room was so small you couldn't not trip over the bed or desk trying to get around. Barely room to go through your bag. Weirdly, the bathroom could have been much smaller to make the actually room bigger and easier to maneuver. We didn't find the bag valet under the bed until we were leaving. The temperature gauge wasn't correct and we were hot both nights, and the light in the mirror didn't work either. Staff was nice enough. I don't think Id stay here again.
