Great location with restaurants and a view!
We stayed at the Monterey Bay Plaza Hotel and Spa for two nights while visiting the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and Elkhorn Slough. We were not able to get a room with an ocean view so we opted for the city view and had read reviews about the street noise. It was very noisy when our slider door was open to the very narrow balcony. We were on the top floor (4th) of the main building facing the street. But once we closed the slider - it was quiet and we were able to fall asleep. My advice if you’re not getting an ocean view - opt for a room that faces inside the building for a quieter experience (vs the city view). The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the hotel was exactly what we expected. The views from the large terrace area / cafe / Al fresco dining - were amazing. We saw seals and otters all day long from the hotel terrace. We had lunch at their cafe and also used the well hidden hot tub area on the second floor of the spa building. Our only complaint was that the beds were extremely soft and felt worn in on one side. The staff told us they were new - but it was a tough night for two adults in a mushy queen. In addition we had a really fun time renting e-bikes from the rental shop attached to the hotel. They were super nice and got us set up quickly. The bike path runs for miles to the south of the hotel and about a half a mile to the North. We would stay here again.

This property is perfectly located in Monterey. Right on the ocean in Cannery Row. I was impressed with the size of our room and cleanliness.also the staff is very serviced oriented and friendly. The negatives , coffee machine in room didnt work, towels were rough, no over sheet on bed, just comforter. For the high price I expected no issues. I will probably not stay at this hotel again.

Nice hotel and convenient location!
The room was nice and clean and the partial bay view was nice. It was a bit on the pricier side but we enjoyed the stay.
