So this is a 4-star hotel and there seems to be undisclosed ground floor renovations in hand. The reception area looks to be 'temporary' and at check-in the receptionist had a bag of crisps on the counter. Rooms are nice, no/minimal falls to the shower floors so water runs out onto the bathroom floor. No 'turn-down' service that I would expect at an hotel charging $615 a night ... oh! and you have to pay for the bottled water in your room ($4.50 @). That's what I call a 'cheap skate' to charge for water.

Temporary front desk during renovations was adequate, but not well signposted on arrival. Faulty light switch reported day 1, and each day after had still not been repaired by end of 4-night stay. In-house staff had fiddled; but poor connection / contact sparking & causing light to flicker clearly needed proper electrician (as I told them originally, having been one myself for 50 years) And had to use my own paper to write the note; as they no longer provide pad & pencil as on previous stays. Otherwise all OK. Rooms are small but OK for one person. Handy to airport train. Clean, comfortable, and front staff very helpful. Good workstation with decent lighting. Adequate space in bathroom for laying out personal stuff. Will keep going back.

It's unlikely I'll stay again. The property is in a good location, close to the tram and also walkable. I have stayed here before. The location is great and with hotel prices being exorbitant in Sydney after covid this hotel is a good option. There are also a bunch of free movies to watch and i found the dinner meal at the restaurant to be excellent and delicious. However this time the hot water was barely warm, the bed was worn in so had the usual lump in the middle and a sag on the side most commonly slept on by guests. There were some coffee/tea spills on the cupboard and wall. I asked to change rooms because of the hot water problem and they said maintenance wasn't back til Monday, but 'I can go check on the roof and check the switch' 😬 I was staying 3 nights and didn't want it going out again, so I mentioned the bed problem and said id prefer a different room which I got but having read other reviews I think i was lucky this happened. I noticed on previous stays that the hotel will likely wear quickly as i believe the fittings are cheaper. I want to give a better review but this is the reality

Room 918 has to put up with Friday night disco music from the square below which was quite annoying (despite double glazing) It spoilt quiet enjoyment for the entire evening up to 11pm. Otherwise the room and bed were comfortable, if a little small. Hot water temperature could have been a little higher. It was difficult to get a nice hot shower...

The lady that checked us in was awesome. We were there quite early around 11am, wanting o drop our bags off but the lady said that our rooms were ready and we were able to check in quickly! Thanks to her to her for accommodating us.

It was nice. Service and breakfast was good. Only problem is that every night from 9-11ish there was loud parties right out side in the patio area next to the hotel. Could not sleep at all until the party was done.
