Reception staff are fantastic and very friendly. It's centrally located to the CBD, Darling Harbour and a short walk to Chinatown and Paddy's market. The entrance is nice and professional. My only criticism would be that the building is in need of a fresh lick of paint. It's obviously an old building converted into the hotel, and this gives it the lovely period feel, but on fine inspection you start to notice the problems. Things like broken lights, the smell of burnt oil in the kitchen, scuffs, marks, cracks. It's these shortcomings which makes it only a 3 star hotel. If the owner does some light renovations now, it'll easily become 4 star. If left as is and it continues to deteriorate, then it'll slip into a 2 star rating. However, if you like spacious rooms and the central location, you can't go wrong for the price. I'd recommend for the budget conscious and the non-fussy traveller.

We got a deal through Hotels.com and thank goodness, I wouldn’t have liked to pay full price. The overall cleanliness of the room was sub- par with dust and grime everywhere. The bathroom was DISGUSTING with mould throughout the shower and surrounding areas, the products provided were watered down. The car park was unsafe and tight, I would park elsewhere. Overall, not a place I would stay again.

Staff were very lovely and helpful. We felt that the shower wasn’t that clean which was a bit disappointing and the TVs didn’t work as they were meant to - in the lobby it showed smart tv options available but we did not have this. Location was great though and bed was comfy.

Great location but great disappointment with the poor condition of this hotel. The nightly rate was suggestive of 5-star accommodation which was at best 2.5 stars. The issues with the lifts was very annoying and wasted valuable time waiting for service! Needs a lot of work!

Accomodation was well maintained, as advertised. Communication before arrival was good. Room rate was excellent considering the proximity to the city. Other amenities were good (pool, sauna, gym, coffee in lobby). Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were willing to hold our luggage before check in and after check out. The cleanliness could have been improved. You can tell they only clean the floors down the middle, but not in the corners. The bathroom tile could use a serious steam clean. Baseboards thick with dust. Would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room. But the stove top, microwave, fridge and dishwasher were used lots during our stay and appreciated.

Awesome hotel
Walking distance to Darling harbour, a minute to Town Hall station and the main shopping mall/Queen Victoria building. Comfortable bed, very clean bathroom with tech toilet just like the one in Japan.

The actual room was very comfortable and had an awesome bathroom with all the mod cons. Staff were extremely courteous and respectful. A negative for us was the location. The Druitt Street access was a marathon, particularly being unaccustom to so many hills around the CBD but not YEHS fault. Location not quite what we needed considering our age. To the younger generation it would be fine.
