First issue was that the room door was open when we went to the room the first time. Notified the front desk. They came to review the room and we assumed it was an accident by housekeeping as the door seemed to stick when shutting and needed to be fully pulled shut to fully close.
Then we found our room was extremely cold. The thermostat showed 66. I tried to adjust this and it set off the fire alarm. I turned down the thermostat and the alarm stopped. No one checked on us and the room smelled like gas. Went downstairs to front desk and asked for a new room but was told there were none. I asked to be moved to a new hotel b/c the room could not be slept in. Since the alarm did not alert anyone I did not feel comfortable that carbon monoxide may have been released. The front desk person then found another room for us to stay in. My daughter and I sat outside for 30 minute as we both had headaches from the smell and then we went to our new room and stayed awake for another 2 hrs to make sure we were feeling okay and not experiencing any counter effects. The rest of our stay was fine and what I typically experience when staying at a Hilton.
